The THE BAND Band brings the music of The Band alive with authentic,
true-to-form renditions of their extraordinary repertoire, including
"The Weight", "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down", "Up On Cripple
Creek", and many deep cuts from all their classic albums.
The members
of The Band - Levon Helm, Robbie Robertson, Rick Danko, Richard
Manuel, and Garth Hudson - were first known for backing up rockabilly
star Ronnie Hawkins (as The Hawks) in the early 1960’s, then as
Bob Dylan's backup band for his famous 1966 world tour.
In 1968,
known simply as The Band, they released their debut album, Music
From Big Pink, which was followed by their self-titled album (“The
Brown Album”), Stage Fright, Cahoots, and several others. Their
legendary live performances are well documented on albums (Rock
of Ages, Before The Flood) and in movies (The Last Waltz, Festival
Express). Acclaimed by their peers and critics alike, they changed
the course of American music and influenced a generation of fans
and musicians.
